Old Fashioned Playing Time

My afternoon: As I am trying to work on some butterfly wings while the Babe is taking her nap, I hear the other children run around the house and the garden to play hide-and-seek.  Soon enough the game has moved to the shared garden within our compound and the neighbours kids that are also off from school join in.  Fast forward 90 minutes and the game is still in full swing!  I just love it when they just play like I used to as a child, and confirm to me that we don't need computer games, iPads and TVs to have a great time.

In the meantime, I manage to get some sewing done during the day in the school holidays. . . It's a win-win situation!

Mijn middag: ik probeer te werken aan een paar vlindervleugels, terwijl de Babe neemt haar dutje doet.  Ik hoor de andere kinderen in het huis en de tuin spelen, ze zijn verstoppertje aan het doen.  Het spel verhuisd in korte tijd naar buiten, naar de gemeenschappelijke tuin in onze compound en de buurkinderen doen inmiddels ook mee.  Anderhalf uur later is het spel is nog steeds in volle gang! Ik hou ervan dat mijn kinderen gewoon spelen zoals ik dat vroeger deed, en het bevestigt voor mij dat we geen computerspelletjes, iPads en TV's nodig hebben om ons goed te kunnen vermaken.

In de tussentijd, heb ik wat tijd gehad om te werken gedurende de dag in de schoolvakantie. Het is een win-win situatie!
