We had a lovely weekend away from the city and combined buying crafting supplies with a relaxing stay at the farm. It had been over a year since our last visit.
The one challenge we had though is that the kids came along with me to look at the operations at the Kenana Knitters. Hence, we were not able to walk away with just my gorgeous supplies (fleece and knitting wool), but we also had four critters in tow. Three monkeys and a pink zebra! Not even an adult can resist these gorgeous creations that are knitted by the women in the community.
I was allowed to take some quick photo's of their display of animals in pure hand-spun wool and their organic Ugandan cotton collection. Looking at them again, I can be happy that only four critters came along with us since they are all so gorgeous! By the way, these critters are sold worldwide. We hadden een heerlijk weekend weg van de stad en combineerden het inkopen van wol met een ontspannen verblijf op de boerderij. Het was meer dan een jaar sinds ons laatste bezoek daar.
De uitdaging die we echter hadden, is dat de kinderen met mij mee kwamen naar de Kenana Knitters. We waren niet in staat om alleen mijn prachtige benodigdheden (fleece en breiwol) mee te nemen, maar we hadden ook vier beestjes op sleeptouw. Drie apen en een roze zebra! Niet eens een volwassene kan deze prachtige creaties weerstaan die worden gebreid door de vrouwen in de gemeenschap.
Ik mocht een aantal foto's in hun winkeltje maken van de dieren uit handgesponnen wol en biologische Oegandese katoen. Als ik er zo weer naar kijk kan ik blij zijn dat er slechts vier beestjes met ons mee kwamen, ze zijn allemaal zo mooi! Ze verkopen hun creaties wereldwijd, dus kijk even op de Kenana Knitters Facebook pagina waar jij ze kunt kopen.
