Inspired by a recent post on the NaturalKids Team blog, we set out to make our own. We had to adjust the recipe a little bit as not all ingredients are readily available here. We used:
- pure beeswax
- coconut oil
- almond oil
- peppermint oil
It was a lovely process for my daughter to experience, and she's remembering to use her lip balm now. We have enough for a few months now, but next time I plan to use one part of beeswax to two parts of oil to make the balm a little more fluid.
Do you make your own body-care products as well once in a while?

We gebruikten:
- zuivere bijenwas
- kokosolie
- amandelolie
- pepermuntolie
Andrea

Thanks Hannah. I just did :-)
DeleteI started making my own lip balm when I found out that I was allergic to lanolin and it's in most natural lip balms here. I use basically the same recipe as you do but I've never tried almond oil. Does it change the consistency? I tend to make ours on the firm side using more beeswax as the coconut oil can turn back into a liquid on hot days.
ReplyDeleteI think it just adjusts the scent a little, texture of the coconut oil and almond oil that I used was similar. I also use it to just moisturise my skin.
DeleteThanks for sharing with us at Eco-Kids Tuesday! Hope to see you again tomorrow!
