Henna Art

Now that the long school holiday is coming to an end, the kids birthday parties are beginning again.  We had our first one yesterday and it was quite nice to catch up again with the parents and kids.  Parties often also include a face painter here in Nairobi, but yesterday the face painting also included the option of henna painting.  Not an uncommon art here in Kenya with so many religious groups using it as a form of body decoration.

Since the party was rather small, there was the opportunity for the adults to have some painting done as well, and I took it.  The henna was prepared in such a way that it will only stay on my skin for a day or two, but I am certainly contemplating having a more elaborate painting done that will last up to a month.
